Lake Council Projects

The Steuben County Lakes Council is active in local and state-wide issues on your behalf in order to protect the lakes environment in Steuben County.

WATER QUALITY

During the past year we have done extensive water testing on the Pigeon Creek chain of lakes due to pollution problems. We have also attended local and state-wide meetings to support water quality issues.

EDUCATION

Providing education about water quality and environmental issues is a major goal of the Lakes Council. How do we accomplish this? We constantly seek ways to reach out and teach about our environment. Sue Myers has written an excellent article about our educational programs (click here to read the article).

As part of our educational commitment, the Lakes Council also provides a scholarship for a Trine University student who is studying environmental engineering.

The Lakes Council strives to be a source of information for those seeking it. If you need information, please feel free to call the office for help. Or, you can send us an email and we'll get back to you as quickly as possible.

The projects of the Steuben County Lakes Council are made possible by your support and we invite you to join us and become a member. If you would like more information, please click here to see the membership page.
